Follow Esquimalt Parks and RecreationCourts are great and met new people. That is the plus side. The issues were in the planning I think. The playing format left a lot to be desired. Inconsistent and confusing. In 3 hours we played only 4 games and 2 of them against the same people. It was oversold - should have been capped at 32 so max time sitting out would be one game. Twice we were sitting 3 games in a row. We played with the same partner throughout which was not mentioned in the write up and that wasn’t great for some people. Games were to 11 OR for 12 minutes whichever came first. 12 minutes is too long as we played for the 12 minutes even if the game ended at 11-6 i.e. 8 minutes in. In a social situation like this, it is best to have 10 minutes games period. Winner is the one with the highest score at the whistle. They did not stack paddles in the winner loser piles but rather small laminated numbers which got mixed up, moved and missed. Stacking paddles is the only way to keep it on track.
