Follow Elizabeth LacyElizabeth Lacy, MHA, MPS, NRP is an experienced paramedic with 19 years of field experience who transitioned into education and outreach to strengthen the emergency medical services workforce. She serves as the EMS Outreach Coordinator at University Medical Center New Orleans, a Level I Trauma Center, where she is the first to hold this role. Her background combines frontline clinical expertise with academic and operational leadership, allowing her to bridge the gap between prehospital care and hospital-based trauma services.In her role, Elizabeth hosts and leads a wide range of EMS-focused educational and professional development events. These include initial Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) training programs, continuing education courses, scenario-based and simulation-driven learning, competency assessments, and exam preparation. She also develops and delivers specialized trainings focused on high-impact areas such as pediatric and geriatric emergencies, incident management, mass-casualty response, extrication, and transport operations. Her events are designed to be practical, engaging, and directly applicable to real-world prehospital care.Elizabeth’s mission is to elevate the quality, confidence, and preparedness of EMS providers through high-quality outreach and education. She is committed to fostering strong collaboration between the field and the trauma center, promoting evidence-informed practice, and supporting lifelong professional development within EMS. Through her work, she aims to improve patient outcomes, strengthen system readiness, and empower providers at every stage of their careers.
