The Edmonton Interfaith Centre was founded in December 1995 to promote respect, friendship, harmony and understanding between people of various faiths. Our programs aim to help people live together as good neighbors. The Interfaith Centre has lay and clergy members from many different faiths, and has more than a dozen different religions represented on its current board. The objective of the Interfaith Centre is to educate its members and the wider community about the diverse religious faiths present in Edmonton. We have a long history of success in developing programs which communicate the importance of respect for diversity. We have implemented a wide variety of programs, large and small, which have brought together people of many faiths to discuss critical issues facing our community. The programs include lectures, prayer services, discussions, presentations, and interfaith dialogues. The Centre also works to raise awareness about local and global discrimination and to model a non-discriminatory lifestyle.
