This is a co-collaboration with YOU!Luminous Ent are bringing a community of dancers together who co-curate the space during each event we host. Inspired by conscious dance practices, we facilitate an open format DJ set with the intention of connecting and flowing with the energy in the room. Each event will be different, as those in attendance will shape the experience with what they bring to the dance.From the moment you arrive at an event you will be immersed in music; background music gently welcomes you into the space for the 1st 30mins as you greet fellow dancers, stretch and warm-up. This is followed by a 2 hour dance to an improvised DJ set which starts on mellow tempos, but then builds and feeds off the dynamic in the room. A 30min period is left at the end for cooling down, unwinding and socialising. There will be interactive elements throughout the space which encourage creativity in different forms such as drawing, use of percussive instruments and singing.Being held on the last Saturday of every month, our fun, heart-centred experience is an expressive outlet for whatever you have been harnessing that month, to leave you feeling rejuvenated for the new month approaching. We are creating an open forum for the community to input on each month’s event; sharing music that you would love to dance to (either composed by others or by yourself), original artwork to decorate the space, or what’s energetically motivating you to want to dance that month.
