Follow Dr. Randel D. HansonRandel D. Hanson, Ph.D. is working with Riverland College's Center for Agricultural and Food Science Technology in building their Local Foods Program and on campus farm/s. An expert in regenerative agriculture and community-based food systems, Hanson co-founded the Eco-Entrepreneurship Program at Lake Superior College, directed the Program in Environment and Sustainability at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, for a decade, and was on the faculty of the Justice Studies Program at Arizona State University for a decade. During his work, he founded three institutional farms for teaching and research. For those activities, he became a Fellow with the Institute on the Environment and served as an Endowed Chair in Agriculture Systems with the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Sciences at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. He has published widely in both academic and popular venues. Hanson grew up on a small farm in western Minnesota.
