Maya Guruswami received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in 2004 after completing a four year accredited program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. This degree allows her to practice primary care with a focus on alternative medicine (nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture, chiropractic, and pharmacology) in states and provinces that license naturopathic physicians. Unfortunately, Florida has not issued licences to naturopathic physicians since 1959. She also recieved a Bachelor of Science from McGill University, with a major in anatomy and cell biology and a minor in pharmacology. She is currently working toward a Fellowship with the Canadian Academy of Homeopathy, the most rigorous homeopathic diploma in North America.Maya has been practicing naturopathic medicine since she graduated in 2004. Over the years, she has specialized in botanical medicine, environmental medicine, and now homeopathy and obstetrics. She opened Restoring Health in 2014 in West Palm Beach and works with difficult cases that are not responding to conventional medicine. Maya has taught courses in nutrition, naturopathy, and homeopathy at Everglades University in Boca Raton. She has two delightful daughters who were born at home in 2013 and 2016.
