Hi there - I am Dr. Chrissy Chard, and I'm the founder of Courageous Parents, an organization dedicated to supporting parents, grandparents and caregivers to Parent And Reparent with Empathy, Nurturing, Trust and Support. In my work, I journey alongside parents as they learn to more readily access a grounded, healing-centered approach to parenting. As a parent of three, I know deeply the rollercoaster of experiences and emotions that parenting entails, from awe, profound joy, and elation, to guilt, despair, and even rage… yes, rage can be here too:). I also know what healing and transformation feel like, which is why I now dedicate my life and work to supporting other parents in their journey. In my coaching practice, I work 1-on-1 and with small groups where we delve into the latest neuroscience of effective parenting, attachment theory, nervous system science, and somatic coaching. My role is to journey alongside parents and caregivers as they learn to access their courage, uncover what is getting in the way, and pave their own parenting path centered in self-trust and compassion. In addition to coaching, I also host seminars and workshops on a variety of topics, which include "The what, why and how of reparenting", "Self-care as a radical act", "Moving through shame, guilt and rage", "Finding harmony in co-parenting", "Creating an empowered separation routine", and others! It's important to note that I come to this work from the belief that parenting is political (and radical!). I see the work of Courageous Parenting as a frontline in creating a more socially just, healed world. Related, I take a justice-centered approach to charging for my services. I recognize that a dollar does not have the same value for each person, based on varying levels of financial privilege and systemic inequities. Therefore, I have different pricing options in order to honor this reality.
