About USParents Love Youth Mentors (PLYM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through transformative mentorship and anger management programs. Tragically,86% of these victims are male, and86% are killed with a firearm.1 in % female high school studentsin Chicago reports being abused by a dating partner, and40% of girls ages 14-17know someone personally impacted by dating. violence.Substance abuse continues to rise, with1.1 million individualsin Chicago-Joliet-Naperville area reporting illicit drug use in the past year.Child Abuse: Meanwhile in 2021, Illinois report35,841 cases of child maltreatment.These challenges contribute toyouth violence,crime, andemotional instability, making intervention essential.PLYM CHICAGO'S IMPACTFUL SOLUTIONOur evidence-based programs address these issues by focusing on three key areas:Mentorship: Providing trusted guidance, emotional support, and life skills that help youth build confidence, manage emotions, and make positive choices.Anger Management: Teaching practical techniques to control emotions, resolve conflicts, and prevent violence.Character Development & Leadership: Instilling purpose, accountability, and responsibility to help youth become positive role models in their communities.Our approach is unique-- we actively engage parents in the mentorship process to create a supportive home environment that reinforces positive growth.Follow PLYM Chicago on IGIG: plymchicago
