Founded in 1975 by Emmy Award winner Dr. Zakarya Diouf and Artistic Director, choreographer and performer Naomi Gedo Diouf, Diamano Coura West African Dance Company is a not-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the preservation and appreciation of traditional West African music, dance, theater and culture. Diamano Coura, meaning "those who bring the message" in the Wolof language of Senegal, aims to combine rhythmic and movement dynamism and transport audiences into an understanding and appreciation of Africa's epic and folkloric culture.
