Hello, my name is Danielle and I run @decolonisingmyclassroom, a social media page where educators based in schools and education advocates alike can get insights into how to decolonise our classrooms and work towards a liberatory future in education, one lesson at a time.The goal is to create an educator community where we can share resources, strategies and develop our practice to provide an intersectional, nuanced, historically accurate and liberatory curriculum to the young people in our classrooms. The current education system, teacher training and curriculum programs that are in place do not go far enough. I am inspired by the work of Paolo Friere, Marlon Lee Moncrieffe, Bettina L. Love, Ericka Hart, Jennifer Mullan, NME and BLAM to name but a few.Teachers have the power to create change and momentum in the move towards a fair, equitable and liberatory future in education.Thanks for being here and your support.
