Follow Deanna DiSalvoThis summer I'll be training to take on the Sydney, Australia Marathon in August —a challenge I’ve been preparing for with determination, gratitude, and purpose. But this journey isn’t just about crossing the finish line; it’s about making a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer. That’s why I’ve partnered with the American Cancer Society to raise $4,000 to support their lifesaving work.Cancer touches nearly everyone. It has taken loved ones from us too soon, tested the strength of families, and left countless others searching for hope. For me, this cause is deeply personal. Whether it’s in honor of a friend, family member, or colleague who has faced cancer, or to stand in solidarity with those still fighting, I am running to fuel research, provide support, and ultimately help find a cure. The American Cancer Society works tirelessly to:Fund groundbreaking research to better understand, prevent, and treat cancer.Provide support services for patients and their families, from rides to treatment to free lodging near treatment centers.Promote prevention and early detection through education and outreach.Advocate for public policies that improve access to care and funding for research.Every step I take on this 26.2-mile journey is a commitment to this mission. But I can’t do it alone—I need your support. Your donation, big or small, will help bring us closer to a world without cancer. Here’s how your generosity makes an impact:$25 could provide free 24/7 access to a cancer specialist via the ACS hotline.$50 could help fund a night of lodging for a patient and caregiver.$100 could support breakthrough research in pursuit of new treatments.Together, we can fuel hope and healing. Whether you can contribute financially or share this page with your network, every action counts.
