DC Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression

We are the DC Branch of the National Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression. We are fighters defending the people of DC against racist police terror and political repression.Our mission is to unite DC residents around defending and strengthening our democratic rights, and fighting for the wellbeing, safety, and right of all DC residents to thrive in their communities free of racist police terror and anti-democratic political repression.We are concerned with eliminating all feters that deny us human rights and basic freedoms. This means ending police misconduct and surveillance of Black and Brown communities, ending corruption in the courts, ending prison profiteering, and ending gentrification. The people of DC should have the power to control the institutions, laws, and policies that supposedly serve them, and until they do, we will exist to organize a fightback against undemocratic governance and protest for all victims of racist and political repression.We recognize all the ways that oppression and poverty at home is directly connected to the destruction and war abroad, and how the fight for worker’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, and disability rights/access are also under attack by the same forces. To that end, we unite with all movements which advance these struggles and envision a DC where these movements can be stronger, united. Our strategy is not only to respond to incidents of injustice after they happen, but to build towards meaningful change in the power relatinship between our neighborhoods, wards, city council and the mayor's office.
