Founded in 1909 Mission Daughters of the British Empire (DBE) is a nonprofit, nonpolitical voluntary society of women of British or British Commonwealth birth or ancestry that reside in the United States. DBE is an organization that provides its members with friendship and fun with other women while raising funds for worthwhile charities. Support of the four British Homes in the USA for retired men and women is the primary objective of the DBE. The secondary objective is for local philanthropy and to promote closer relations with English-speaking people within the community. Together with other members of the Midwestern District states, DBE in Kansas members work to support the British Home Community in Brookfield, Illinois.
