Follow Cristian Andres RodriguezWith a foundation in mechanical engineering and a passion for intellectual property law, I’ve built my career on protecting and advancing innovative ideas.I’m the founder of Rotek Law, an intellectual property law firm focused on helping inventors, startups, and companies protect what they build. I’m also a registered Patent Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and serve as Of Counsel in Kelley Kronenberg’s Intellectual Property Division. I specialize in guiding clients through patent strategy, application drafting, and protection of cutting-edge technologies.Before founding Rotek Law, I gained experience managing patent applications for mechanical devices, conducting prior art searches, and handling complex patent documentation. My background includes litigation across commercial and civil matters, and I developed strong appellate advocacy skills during my time with Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal.I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, cum laude, from Florida International University and my Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. Thomas University College of Law, graduating in the top 20% of my class. While in law school, I served as a Research Assistant focusing on trademark law and digital assets, and I authored a paper on artificial intelligence in medical device monitoring, published in the Spring 2024 issue of the St. Thomas Law Review.I’m also an Adjunct Professor at St. Thomas University Benjamin L. Crump College of Law, where I teach Innovations and Patent Management. It’s been an incredible opportunity to share practical insights and help shape the next generation of intellectual property professionals.Fluent in Spanish, I’m committed to helping clients navigate the world of IP protection and bring their ideas to life. I’ve also passed the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) to expand my practice across the United States.
