C.O.P.E. Mission C.O.P.E. was created to offer guidance, support, teach coping skills, foster emotional development, counsel, empower and encourage children, youth and adults who have experienced obstacles from painful or traumatic life experiences. C.O.P.E. Vision C.O.P.E. exists to help others take what seemed to be a negative obstacle in life, to use it as a stepping stone to greatness. FOUNDER/LEAD Therapist Casondra Burkley, LCSW, M.Div, matriculated at Baylor University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Speech Communications as well as a Master's Degree in Social Work. She also obtained a Master of Divinity from George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Casondra is a survivor of growing up in poverty, overcoming a high school rape, and many other life obstacles. Casondra has over 16 years of experience working with children and families. She uses her obstacles as stepping stones to greatness. She is a living example of Conquering the Obstacles of Painful Experiences. She is a published author, playwright, pastor, poet, international speaker, and licensed clinical social worker. She currently works in the medical field of social work, offering medical and mental health services to children with special needs along with running her own mental health private practice. While being a devoted wife and mother to her beautiful daughter, she still finds time to serve her community. Casondra is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where she serves as the South Texas State Chaplain, Crime Survivors of Safety and Justice, Sienna Board of Directors village representative , a member of the clergy and a plethora of other organizations. Casondra loves writing plays and has produced, directed and starred in several plays and is the author of two books.
