Dear All, As part of our continued mission to support our community during these extraordinarily difficult times, we will be launching a new project in May 2023 – The Harlow Hygiene Bank/ Pantry which has been made possible through the partnership of The Hygiene Bank UK. This new outreach project will operate as part of our existing Community Pantry; an initiative we launched in 2021, which redistributes emergency surplus food, offer cooking workshops, personal hygiene essentials and also provide a warm space for people to find connection and give back through volunteering. From our own experience, with the staggering increase in people accessing The Pantry, we know that many in our community are having to make the distressing choice between buying food or buying hygiene products. They simply can not afford both. ** The Hygiene Bank/Pantry Harlow will aim to bring the community together to restore personal dignity** Once launched, the Hygiene Bank/Pantry will provide opportunities for the entire community to contribute towards tackling this problem, and restoring dignity to those severely impacted affected. Products for distribution will be donated by the public, through a network of collection points in pharmacies and other local stores, and through local businesses and community organisations, either in the form of financial sponsorship or product donation. As a non-profit organisation, we mainly rely on sponsorships and donations as well as our fundraising initiatives to enable us continue to with our vital service to the community.
