Follow Communicate For Health Justice (CFHJ)Established with Health Equity In Mind After visiting one #healthcommunication blog after another, Chelsea Dade, Creator and Executive Director of CFHJ, grew weary of the repetition of viewpoints that traditional healthcare communications content presented. Cost, quality, and safety should be the core fundamentals of #healthcare, but there are other important factors, like racial inequities, economic instability, stigma, lack of trust, and bias, that impact these healthcare tenets. These factors are consistently missing from the larger healthcare discussion. CFHJ was created in December 2018 with the hope of helping any organization that deals with healthcare, communicate with health equity in mind, as it's the just thing to do. Our Goal The goal of CFHJ is to help organizations elevate their traditional healthcare communications practices with health equity concepts in order to better relay their messages to their stakeholders in non-profits, for profits, governmental organizations, etc, which ultimately helps make healthcare policies, programs, and procedures more informed, inclusive, and relevant. We also develop content, programs, and opportunities to share health communication with the general public. Our audience primarily includes seasoned healthcare professionals and medical students, who are hoping to get informed about health equity matters in healthcare. Unlike traditional public health, health equity often falls by the wayside in healthcare, and CFHJ is shining a light on this gap. Our work is supported by young, emerging health professionals, all with unique missions to make healthcare better for future generations.
