Ni yw CofGâr, gwasanaeth amgueddfeydd Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin. Yn CofGâr, rydym yn credu bod ein gorffennol yn llunio pwy ydyn ni heddiw. Ein cenhadaeth yw cadw stori Sir Gâr, a’r gorffennol, yn fyw. Mae ein henw Cymraeg yn gyfuniad o’r gair ‘cof’, i gyfeirio at gofio, a “Gâr” o Sir Gâr. Fodd bynnag, nid rhannu straeon ddoe yn unig sy’n bwysig. Yn CofGâr, rydym eisiau ysgogi syniadau ac annog pobl i lunio’r dyfodol mewn ffordd bositif. We are CofGâr, Carmarthenshire County Council’s museums and arts service. At CofGâr, we believe that our past shapes who we are today, and it is our mission to keep the Carmarthenshire story, and the past alive. Our Welsh name is a blend of memory and place (cof = memory and Gâr from the shortened county name). However, it’s not just about sharing the stories of yesterday. At CofGâr we want to kindle ideas and encourage people to positively shape the future.
