Cleveland County Extension Master Gardeners

The​ ​Extension​ ​Master​ ​Gardener​ ​Volunteers​ ​of​ ​Cleveland​ ​County​ ​is​ ​a​ ​volunteer​ ​program​ ​that train​s ​individuals​ ​in​ ​the​ ​art and science​ ​of​ ​gardening.​ ​Our​ ​certified​ ​volunteers​ ​then​ ​pass​ ​on​ ​the information​ ​they​ ​learned​ ​during​ ​their​ ​training.Our​ ​priority​ ​is​ ​to​ ​provide​ ​residents​ ​of​ ​Cleveland​ ​County​ ​with​ ​up-to-date,​ ​practical​ ​and​ ​sound gardening​ ​advice​ ​that​ ​they​ ​can​ ​use.​ ​We​ ​accomplish​ ​this​ ​by​ ​serving​ ​the​ ​home​ ​gardening​ ​public by​ ​answering​ ​questions,​ ​speaking​ ​to​ ​groups,​ ​writing​ ​gardening​ ​articles,​ ​working​ ​with​ ​youth, gardening​ ​in​ ​the​ ​demonstration​ ​gardens,​ ​etc.Finally,​ ​our​ ​volunteers​ ​not​ ​only​ ​share​ ​research-based​ ​and​ ​sustainable​ ​horticultural​ ​practices,​ ​but also​ ​develop​ ​lifelong​ ​friendships​ ​with​ ​others​ ​who​ ​have​ ​similar​ ​gardening​ ​interests.
