About Choir BLAST

ChoirBLAST, a Celebration of Contemporary Choirs from around the UK… and my goodness is it going to be a celebration this year! Welcome, and thank you so much for joining us on this (fingers crossed) very sunny day. We are excited to welcome 50 choirs from around the country this year, including: BBC Gospel Choir of the Year 2024, Kudos Choir; the amazing Reggae Choir; Ready Singer One, who sing film scores and video game music; and Tongue and Groove, who grooved all the way down from London. Welcome also to our tremendous local talent: Soundbytes; Little Town Choir; Godalming, Guildford and Farncombe Jazz Choirs; MbM Gospel Choir, and so many more. Not to be missed are The Meath Epilepsy Choir and The halow Project Choir – two charities who will be supported by the ChoirBLAST festival. Today is not just a celebration of choirs – it is a celebration of local talent. Check out some of the amazing artists and crafters, who will be selling their exquisite work. Then drop in for a drink or some food from some of the mouth wateringly good food and drink stalls... a cheeky Rum Cocktail from Simon or a sandwich, freshly made for you by Lizzie at Daisy’s. ChoirBLAST is not-for-profit, and non-competitive. It celebrates the joy and well-being that singing provides, both as a listener and a singer. It is solely run and painstakingly planned by volunteers. So, if you see one of us in our ChoirBLAST T-shirts, give us a cuddle, we are working really hard. If you have a good day with us today, please do donate, or buy a raffle ticket ... or 5. Every penny that we take goes into running this event, keeping it free for choirs to enter and for people to be audience members. All the remaining proceeds go to The Meath Epilepsy Charity and The halow Project, two charities close to our hearts. Singing means so much to them and they are performing today. I am passionate about singing and after today, hopefully you will be too. Join a choir, or support a choir by going to watch them. There is a choir out there for everyone. Phoebe xx
