What inspired me to create A Spoon More was my passion for redefining the experience of Soul Food! I wanted to create culinary atmosphere that’s fun, intimate, and deeply rooted in our culture—while pushing the boundaries of what’s considered “traditional.”Now staples like fried chicken, collard greens, mac & cheese, and candied yams will always have a place tattoo on my heart, but I see an opportunity to elevate and reimagine these flavors in a way that feels intentional, creative, fresh, and new!Now, on the other hand, I think it’s safe to say we’ve outgrown Sunday brunches—loud music, mediocre shrimp and grits, or chicken and waffles—and the endless hookah lounges with food as an afterthought.We want something more elevated. A space where the vibes are sophisticated yet welcoming. Where the girlies and the fellas can hang, couples can connect, and foodies can truly explore.A Spoon More isn’t just about food; it’s about creating a different type of conversation, a unique vibe, and lasting memories—while expanding the narrative of our culture.
