Charleston Pro Bono is a civil legal aid nonprofit that provides free legal assistance to those in need within our Charleston County community. We rely on donations, private grant funding, and sponsorship through various fundraising events throughout the year. This support is critical for us to continue to meet the high need in our community.Charleston Pro Bono aims to bridge the gap that separates low-income families from the benefits and protections of the justice system. We accomplish this by serving as a vital referral agency to the low-income, at-risk citizens of Charleston County. Through advice and counsel, brief preparation services, private bar involvement, direct representation, and referrals to other service organizations, we serve a vital need in our community. We are dedicated to bettering the quality of life for Charleston’s impoverished and working poor. By providing free legal services essential to family and home stability, Charleston Pro Bono’s services have significant and long-term benefits on people’s lives.
