The Charleston Area Black Caucus was founded in January of 2020 as a Political Action Committee (PAC) by a group of local Millennial leaders who desired to ensure that the true influence of the African American Community in Charleston and its surrounding counties would be represented and respected amongst all political dealings within local, state, and national government. The Immediate 5 Year Plan: Register as many black voters as possible Educate the registered voters on the importance of registering and voting in every election cycle Provide Candidate forums where we vet and endorse candidates whom we believe will speak to the issues of the black community Lobby for issues that impact the black community; namely economic empowerment, social and civic welfare, education and political activity Hold fundraiser to build a proper budget and foundation to promote the plans and agendas, along with fostering political education throughout the black community.
