In 2014, Gordon Robertson, CEO of the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), recognized the need to help military families. "When I heard about the needs, I went to the Lord and asked, 'What can we do? How can we start meeting the needs?'" As a ministry arm of CBN, Helping the Home Front was launched, partnering with local churches and ministries to support struggling military families.CBN’s headquarters is located in Virginia Beach near many military bases, so starting in our own backyard made a lot of sense. Starting from a tiny UHF station in Portsmouth, Virginia, CBN is now broadcasting the Gospel around the world. Helping the Home Front (HHF) is expanding, too, helping military families across America. HHF has grown beyond expectations and we are excited about what God has in store for the future.VisionOur vision is to provide financial support to ministries and churches near every military installation across the United States. We want every church to know Helping the Home Front has financial resources available to help military families with hardships and give those families a fresh start.When we think about the military, we are reminded of those who protect our country. In the aftermath of 9/11, we’ve seen the most deployments in our nation’s history. Here at home, their families are serving, too. We want to recognize their needs and honor their service.MissionOur mission is to financially assist the church so it can better support and disciple military families through multiple and lengthy deployments. After identifying unexpected hardships within active duty military families, Helping the Home Front partners with local churches to meet those needs.
