Brooklyn Sewing Academy

Learn to sew from a community of industry professionals teaching and guiding novices and experts alike!   Based in DUMBO in Brooklyn in New York City 145 Front Street Suite H1 Brooklyn NY 11201 The Brooklyn Sewing Academy is an educational and creative center for sewing, fashion, costume, and adjacent industries. We offer private instruction in our studio and can make "house calls" to schools, businesses, private residences, etc. We have workshops and classes teaching pattern making, basic sewing, fashion illustration, clothing construction, stretch fabric, sewing with leather (sustainably sourced), etc. We have worked with contemporary artists creating soft sculpture, backpack prototyping, wedding gowns, and special effects make-up instruction in our private lessons. If you have a creative project in mind we can teach you how to make it happen! We teach ages 9 and up! Kids, adults, beginners, and experts are all welcome and all have something to contribute and take away from their time with us.
