Barbara Syrenka (previously Basia Goszczynska) , explores her radical Christian faith in a variety of mediums including sculpture, installation, performance, social practice and new media. Inserting craftwork into the spiritual, she redresses discarded objects in multidisciplinary artworks that explore her beliefs about waste, nature and God. She is especially drawn to worn out mass-produced objects that she collects and reclaims through careful manipulation and mending. She also crowdsources materials from others so that her process and artworks can serve as a vehicle for communal healing.
