The Peoples Game is an organization started in 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic as an opportunity for players to still go outside, be social in a safe environment, and play the world’s most popular sport. While many coach and play soccer focused on skill development and winning, TPG’s model is through values-based coaching.TPG focuses on its three core values of Respect, Responsibility and Trust throughout its sessions ensuring the participants are not only increasing their physical skills, but also their social responsibilities. This wholistic approach of mind, body, and social has been proven to enhance positive physical and mental well-being.One of the goals that we would like to see is how the participants start to engage with other outside of our sessions. Realistically, we think this program will help build confidence and strong leaders with cultural values guiding their behaviors. While we understand behaviors can and will change depending on moods and environments, the goal is to establish a strong foundation of core values to take with them as they move from the sessions to school and beyond.
