Janice Aponte is a fine artist based in the city of Chicago. She is a resident artist at workshop4200. Aponte's art pieces are a mix of expressionism and realism which translates into her own unique style, celebrating femininity and her cultural roots from the island of Puerto Rico. "Painting is my way of releasing energy, recharging and heightening my spirituality". Patricia "Lady P" Perez is a Chicago native visual artist. Her Guatemalan and Puerto Rican ethnic background inspires much of the subject matter in her colorful paintings. In her most recent work, she explores the theme of migration in the U.S. from the perspective of children. "Art is powerful. It serves to bridge communities, document our truth and heal the human spirit."
