The Boston-based period instrument quartet, Animati, formed out of a mutual interest of realizing late Baroque through early Romantic repertoire, the way the composers would have heard it. Animati, deriving from the root word animato, meaning "animated" or "spirited," is representative of our intention to bring to life, or animate, music of the past.Animati's members include Thomas Collum and Michael Sherman (violins), Isaiah Chapman (viola), and Enrique Hernandez de Tejada (cello).
