Books have always been my sanctuary. Growing up, they were my escape into worlds where I could dream, imagine, and find comfort when life was tough. After moving to Lawton, Oklahoma, I realized our community didn’t have a local bookstore—and I couldn’t shake the feeling that we needed one. After losing my corporate job, I decided to turn a lifelong dream into reality and create a space where others could find the same comfort and inspiration I always found in books.The name Amethyst and Ink Books is deeply personal. It’s inspired by my mother, who was born in February—her birthstone was the amethyst—and with whom I shared countless hours reading. This store is my way of honoring her memory and passing on the love of reading we shared.Our bookstore embraces a dark-romance aesthetic, but our shelves welcome all readers, all ages, and all genres. We are more than a bookstore—we are a community hub for book clubs, local authors, and events that celebrate creativity and connection. Our mission is to inspire a love of literature, provide a safe haven to disconnect, and make everyone who walks through our doors feel welcomed, inspired, and part of something special.As a woman-owned small business, I couldn’t have done this without the unwavering support of my family, friends, and fellow small-business owners.
