The Alliance for Children is a grassroots non-profit organization begun by four professional women working on child advocacy efforts in the Tiftarea. The Alliance For Children represents three diverse non-profits collaborating together to make a difference for the victims of child maltreatment in the Tiftarea. These non-profits are Coastal Plain Court Appointed Special Advocates, Ruth's Cottage/Patticake House, and Northside Baptist Church.At the first joint meeting of the group it was noted that our judicial circuit partners need motivation and training to do their best work with child maltreatment victims. Looking at the issue of the lack of training opportunities in South Georgia, the group decided to create an annual event that would bring the best of resources to South Georgia and provide a one day training opportunity to motivate and educate our partners.
