A Brighter Side To ASD, Inc, was created in 2015 from anger and fustration from the lack of services provided by the State and recreation programs supportive of my adult son's Autism. He had so much hidden talent and special abilities, I wanted to highlight his progress and accomplishments graduating from high school; but there was no where in this world for him!! I started with a monthly support group at the local library for parents that felt the same way I did..fired up and ready to go!! With an amazing team we created events that supported their skills and their abilities, events that helped parents feel like they are not alone on this journey called Autism! Our goal is to continue creating events that help build an awareness and understanding of Autism in our community, provide resources and personal support to our parents to help guide them on this unsure journey called Autism. We've host many events throughout the year from the Let's Talk Autism Seminar, Annual Family Beach Day, Monthly Support Group Meetings, Annual Holiday Party, various Inclusion events like the Annual Heartbeat Gala, exhibiting at community events that promote Autism Awareness, partnering with other organizations that sponsor recreation events, offering resources, solutions and a shoulder to cry on when needed, someone who actually listens as well as overstands the ups and downs of the disorder!
