1 MIND 1 CHANGE INC. operates as a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth with special and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Our day-to-day operations are coordinated by a small, dedicated team consisting of one full-time paid staff member—the Executive Director—who oversees program development, community partnerships, and fundraising. Much of our work is supported by a committed group of volunteers who assist with event planning, outreach, mentorship, and program delivery. These volunteers are essential to executing our events and providing one-on-one support to participants and families.Our board of directors plays a vital governance and strategic role. Board members provide guidance on organizational priorities, help secure resources, and ensure our programs align with our mission. Board members are selected through a nomination and interview process based on their expertise, community involvement, and passion for serving youth with disabilities. Many are parents, educators, or advocates with lived experience.We engage our constituents—youth, parents, and community stakeholders—directly in program planning and feedback. We host listening sessions, surveys, and informal gatherings to ensure their voices are at the center of our work. Their input shapes the design of our events, the types of services we offer, and the goals we pursue, allowing us to remain responsive and community-driven.
