IMPORTANT:
- Paper shredding - bring up to six copier-sized boxes of paper per vehicle. If you have more, you may reenter the line. Bring documents in bags (preferably not plastic) or boxes. Stay in car, volunteers will retrieve.
- Mattresses & box springs: If pick-up is needed, call Ken Lenz 203-795-3906 to arrange ($15 donation to Lions Club).
- Computers, tablets, phones and other electronics: This service includes wiping hard drives clean. Cost $5 per cell phone, $10 per tablet, $20 per desktop/laptop computers.
- Orange Community Women will collect: clothing, shoes, accessories, sheets, blankets, curtains, towels, toys, dishes, small appliances, sporting goods, household décor, etc. The
Buy Nothing Orange group will host a swap meet at the pavilion. Remaining items get donated to the Women.
DETAILS:
- BRING: Tax papers, bills, receipts, statements, and documents containing personal, financial and/or medical info. No need to remove staples or elastic bands. Remove clips for reuse.
- DO NOT BRING: Shredded paper, newspapers, notebooks, plastic folders, non-confidential papers/mail that go in regular recycling bin.
- BRING: Mattresses and box springs.
- DO NOT BRING: Mattresses from futons/sofa beds or waterbeds; mattresses infested with bed bugs; wet, damaged or excessively soiled mattresses; and sleeping bags or mattress pads/toppers.
- BRING: Clothing, textiles, accessories, housewares, small appliances, linens & towels, stuffed animals, toys.
- DO NOT BRING: Books, DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, or large items.
Secure, on-site paper shredding handled by AFFORDABLE SOLUTIONS of Orange. This service is FREE thanks to the Rotary Club of Orange, CT. Residents may donate to the Orange Rotary Scholarship Fund. Rotarians will be on hand to collect donations.
Mattresses & box spring collection is FREE through Mattress Recycling Council’s Bye Bye Mattress Program. If you need help getting mattresses & box springs to HPCC, members of the Orange Lions Club can pick up, for $10/item donation. Items must be in garage or outside, volunteers will not enter homes. Call Ken Lenz at 203-795-3906 to arrange pick up.
