Set in late nineteenth century Germany, Spring Awakening follows a group of repressed teenagers as they navigate their questions about sexuality, societal hypocrisy and intense disregard from the adults around them. Making its Broadway debut in 2006, Spring Awakening went on to be nominated for 3 Tony awards and be considered one of the most significant rock musicals of the modern era.
