This is a FREE public event where you can come out as a Sickle Cell Warrior, a supporter of a warrior, and/or as someone who wants to learn more about the Sickle Cell Disease.
Sickle cell disease is the term given to inherited blood cell disorders that develop in individuals with abnormal hemoglobin in their red blood cells.
Nearly 100,000 people in the United States have some form of sickle cell disease, which is passed by genes from parents to children.
My church is bringing awareness to the community about SICKLE CELL DISEASE. I hope you can join the walk and awareness program.
Location: Spirit of Elijah Life Institute Church (2104 Bertha St., Opelousas, LA 70570).
Time: Vendor setup will begin at 8:00 am. Lineup for walk will begin at 8:45 am. Walk will start at 9:00 am.
After the walk, there will be vendors on site ready to answer questions and provide much needed community resources. There will also be speaking presentations as well.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, Madelyn Rosette, at 337-945-2998.
