In this needle felting class, you'll learn to sculpt an adorable bear using wool roving (the fiber created in the process of preparing fleece for spinning). Needle felting uses a barbed needle to repeatedly poke the fiber, causing it to tangle and become firm.
You’ll learn the basics of creating three-dimensional shapes, including how to build a core form, add outer colors, shape arms, feet, and facial features.
Students may choose their own colors and design a unique bear. As time allows, you can also needle felt fun “bear accessories” like scarves, hats, and more.
Needle felting is easy to learn and surprisingly relaxing—lots of poking makes great stress relief! With just a needle, some fiber, and a little imagination, you’ll be amazed by what you can create. No two bears will look alike, and that’s part of the fun!
