Objectives for a learning network for teachers focused on MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) should include the following key goals:
Share understanding of the MTSS framework, including its integration of academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports for all students.
Enhance teachers' skills in using data-driven decision-making for screening, progress monitoring, and selecting appropriate tiered interventions.
Build educators' capacity to implement evidence-based core instruction (Tier 1) and targeted interventions (Tiers 2 and 3) with fidelity.
Foster collaboration among educators to analyze student data regularly and adjust instruction and interventions accordingly.
Promote early identification and support for students in need through proactive and preventative strategies.
Encourage the use of a problem-solving approach that supports both student-level and system-level improvements.
Support understanding of culturally and linguistically responsive practices within MTSS.
Strengthen communication and partnership with families about the MTSS process and student progress.
Provide ongoing professional development and resources to sustain MTSS practices and improve teacher efficacy.
These objectives reflect the comprehensive and collaborative nature of MTSS and aim to empower teachers with the knowledge, skills, and supports needed to effectively meet diverse student needs.
