Cassidy Croft and the Lost Treasure of Jesse James OR Treasure? Hardly Knew Her
WHAT:
This original production, written by Derek Kowal and Luke McGuire, is set during the 1980’s. When a time capsule is cracked open in Florence, a mysterious item inside points the way to the long lost treasure of Jesse James. Cassidy Croft, up and coming historian, joins forces with glamorous heiress, Cordelia Cashwell, on a multi-state race against a disgraced archaeologist (Cassidy’s ex-boyfriend), along with his team of documentarians, to follow the clues and discover what happened to the lost treasure of Jesse James. Little do they know, the treasure is protected by a shadowy group willing to go to any length, and wear any disguise, to keep their secrets hidden.
Join our hero, Hånk Bolo, and and heroine, Cassidy Croft, and their dueling teams including a crackpot inventor, radio DJ's, a carpet salesman-taxidermist, a new age guru, and a pair of spoiled rotten trust fund babies on a twisting tale filled with museum heists, car chases, and the legendary caves of Ponca Hills as we discover that “Some secrets wear cowboy hats.”

WHO:
Character descriptions: (In order of Appearance)
BENNY and BUNNY: Hosts of the morning drive-time show on everyone’s favorite station, 95.3, The Rooster. Aspiring documentary film makers. Good for snarky observations and the occasional distraction. Like all good two dimensional characters in a 1980’s era adventure script, there may be more to these two than meets the eye.
CASSIDY CROFT: Highly educated, ambitious historian. She recently separated from Hank Bolo, personally and professionally, to focus on her career.
JESSE JAMES GANG: Members of the infamous gang led by the outlaw, Jesse James
GADGET: Genius inventor, Cassidy’s devoted brother, and Hånk’s biggest fan.
HÅNK BOLO: Highly educated historian, but more likely to choose his friends over his career. Typical “tomb raiding” type, with a sensitive side, and burdened by irrational fear you wouldn’t understand anyway, so stop asking him about it.
CORDELIA CASHWELL: Millionaire when having millions of dollars still meant something. Cordelia’s primary currency is ruthless power, and she uses it to travel the world in her golden helicopter searching for exclusive items money can’t buy. Accompanied at all times by her children and her new age guru.
PABSTNAMI: Cordelia Cashwell’s resident new-age guru and spiritual advisor. Harnesses her unique talents to help Cordelia find hidden treasures. Speaks with absolute confidence about things no one can verify, issues vague cosmic threats at anyone who gets in her way, and sells a wide variety of psychic support products, including expensive crystals and moon water.
CHET: Cordelia’s son. Spoiled. Entitled. Unashamed. Unaware. Hobbies include: Firing people and giving unsolicited business advice that usually amounts to firing everyone and investing in parking lots.
DIJON: Cordelia’s daughter. Permanently unimpressed by you, your outfit, and your hair. Likes: Contempt, Malls, and everyone getting out of her way. Dislikes: History, small towns, and the outdoors. Speaks fluent Valley Girl.
BECKY from HR: Prim. Professional. Smart. Efficient. Instantly available. Her power is her paperwork and everything else is noise.
LARRY: Owner of Larry’s Discount Carpet and Taxidermy Emporium. Larry likes big cars, fancy fur coats, and not admitting to felonies. He’d love to give you a tour of his carpet warehouse and animal processing facility. If he really likes you, he might let you toss some bones in his acid vat.
KNIGHT 1: Deeply committed to the Knights of Aksarben. Smart and capable.
KNIGHT 2: Too smart to be deeply committed to the Knights of Aksarben, but at this point it’s a sunk cost so they’re going to see it through.
KNIGHT 3: Under-qualified and overly enthusiastic.
MAYOR MILO MAGNUSEN: Long-serving mayor of Florence who believes deeply in ceremonies and his own re-election. Image driven. Easily flustered.
GAS MEMBER 1 and GAS MEMBER 2: Upstanding members of Florence’s Gastrointestinal Awareness Society. Their mission: To educate the willing, and awaken the unaware by whatever means necessary--specifically, one particular means that will require sound effects.
GRAND POOBAH: Begins as a mysterious, intimidating vocal presence. Revealed to be a heartwarming parental figure with everyone’s best interests at heart.
