8 Words: Stories, Thoughts or Statements
A fund-raising project for RBR G.
You think of EIGHT WORDS, or less, to tell a story, state a thought, make a statement, express an idea or show your love. Whatever you wish to say however you wish to say it (within some reasonableness).
As a poem, as a short story, as the world's greatest novel, in haiku format. In a graphic arts layout. This is a chance to be a creative writer and a chance to be a creative visual artist.
If you wish to have an image included with your eight words you may create it yourself, use available letter press images or collaborate with a friend.
You will set the moveable type for your words and then use a letter press to print your story or thoughts.
After proofs you print 5 good impressions for RBR G to sell to raise funds and several more for yourself.

Resources and Workshops
Type: Letter type from 36 point to 2 inches. Even some 4 inches. Lead and wood.
Easy and simple composing of type this size.
Paper: Proofing paper and good printing paper.
Inks: Several colors of ink to get started. Easy soap and water cleanup.
Press and rollers: Rollers to ink the type and a Vandercook and other presses to print your story on.
If you have letterpress resources, you may print your 8 words. Remember five impression for RBR G.
Workshops
An introduction to easy simplified letterpress printing. Workshop fee: $45.00 with materials included.
After completing a workshop, you may return once or twice at no additional cost except for material to print more and different thoughts. You will have to provide paper and ink - or buy from RBR G.

Show and Sale of the Printed Stories
As the stories are printed, they will be available for purchase at $25.00 each to support RBR G.
