Doubt: A Parable by John Patrick Shanley. Set in a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, formidable principal Sister Aloysius suspects the charming Father Flynn of crossing a dangerous line with a student. Guided only by intuition and her fierce sense of duty, she confronts him, sparking a tense battle of wills that shakes the school to its foundations. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2005 and the Tony Award for Best Play in 2005, Doubt: A Parable keeps audiences questioning until the final moment: Is Father Flynn guilty, or is Sister Aloysius blinded by certainty? Sharp, fast-paced, and morally charged, Shanley’s modern classic crackles with tension, wit, and compassion — a story of truth, faith, and the cost of conviction that lingers long after the curtain falls.
