Cathy Good is a professional pianist, singer/songwriter who began her musical and dance training at age 4. She studied piano, ballet, violin, viola, organ, voice and ballroom dancing. In her earlier years she won an Illinois State Arthur Murray contest in Samba and Waltz.
She was educated at Rockford College, DePauw University, Scottsdale College, Tyler Junior College and Arizona State University. In Arizona she started her professional career by performing for Loretta Young. Since that time she has performed for many celebrities and in major hotels throughout the country and overseas.
She was formerly 1st chair violist and on the board for the East Texas Symphony and the Clearwater Concert Association. She also served as Vice President of Beta Sigma Phi, President of the Tyler Newcomer's Club and is a past President of the National Society of Arts and Letters Tampa Bay Chapter.
Cathy also performed as violist with the Suncoast Symphony(for 28 years), the Pinellas Park Orchestra, the Musical Chairs, the Grace Notes, the Tropical Strings and the Serenata Strings.
While raising three children she taught adult piano lessons and entertained with her husband Michael for many years as the
"Classy & Brass" duo and has over 18 recordings of popular musical favorites and original compositions.
Cathy currently entertains at Royal Palms of Largo, Cypress Palms Westchester Gardens, and Mease Life. She is a member of BMI, Alpha Phi Sorority, and is a co-founder of North Bay Community Church where she is the pianist and chairman of the Fellowship committee.
The greatest joy in her life comes from her husband of almost 66 years, their children Lori and Jon, daughter-in-law Rosena, their 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, her friends, her church and above all Our Lord and Savior.
She has been blessed with being able to entertain throughout most of her life, creating her own special arrangements and styling for popular, classical, and Christian music for her audiences.
Cathy has five professionally recorded CD's for sale for $10 each. 50% of the proceeds will be donated to NBCC.
