Snowmobile Safety Education Course Announcement
The Town of Webb Police Department is proud to announce that our very first NYS Snowmobile Safety Education course will be held from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the Old Forge Fire Department. The course will be instructed by Officer Michael K. Leviker, a NYS certified snowmobile instructor. Lunch will be provided.
Children between the ages of 10 and 13 years must take this course to be allowed to operate a snowmobile on lands upon which snowmobiling is allowed while still accompanied (within 500ft of) by a person who is at least 18 years of age.
Children between the ages of 14 and 17 years must take this course to be allowed to operate a snowmobile on lands upon which snowmobiling is allowed without being accompanied by a person who is at least 18 years of age.
Students must have reached their 10th birthday on or before the day which the course ends in order to be eligible to receive a snowmobile safety certificate.
Parents/legal guardians MUST remain for the first 15 minutes of this course to allow the completion of the appropriate paperwork.
The certification test consists of 50 multiple choice, true/false, and fill-in-the-blank type answers. If any student may require assistance with reading/comprehension, please contact the instructor via email to arrange accommodations prior to the class.
