Java & Dragons #16: A Seven Winds Soirèe!
“The Unexpected (D&D) Party!” (16 months and counting…)
Fri, Oct 25th, 2025, from 18:00 (GAMES START) to 21:30 (GAMES END)
TIMES
PLAYERS SHOULD ARRIVE: Ready to play at least 10 min before your game begins. (Parking at the venue is free, but the around around the venue parking can be quite scarce, so we recommend securing parking much earlier — you’ve been warned!)
GAMES START: 18:00 (please arrive early out of consideration for other players and your DM/GM)
GAMES END: 21:30 (if this isn’t your first J&D rodeo, don’t forget to give your GM some loving feedback, and your cold, hard cash donation before leaving, details at the down at the bottom)
Grab some coffee (they have some of the best in Okinawa!), chat about D&D (or whatever TTRPG your into, and anything beyond Fantasy-related), and even play some games with members and friends of The Seven Winds Okinawa D&D Gaming Group. This is our open house (party), and we’re saving the best seat for you!
Current and past 7W members are always welcome. New folks finding their way here from D&D Okinawa (or any of our other social media, events on base, etc.) just interested in learning more about D&D (or TTRPGs in general), playing some games, and meeting some of the prime suspects always get front row seats!
Host DM Robert (a.k.a. Raspberry Bulette) welcomes you!

Co-hosts for this event are:
Angie
Daniel
Fred
Unexpected the expected:
- The super-secret password for the party is being able to pronounce “soirée” — correctly!
- For extra XP, B.Y.O. "Hi, my name is..." stickers, and the rule is you need to use the name of your most memorable PC in The Seven Winds or from your own games. (Jordin, 7W Thursday Group, has had the best one hands down so far.)
- “What the f’s up with that?” (as seen on Critical Role) may be played at random times, especially if we've had too much coffee, or too much of what some people spike theirs with!
- DMs Robert (or some other asshole DMs/GMs presumably responsible) may be demoing/playing various OSR and indie games other than D&D, feel free to sample their wares
- Other new (coming soon: Alex’s “Nebulith”) and classic OSR games will be on hand to check out and play, and feel free to bring your own. We learn by “show and do” and we’d love to hear all about the game you’ve been dying to play/run.
- Based on interest, a little actual factual is also D&D is usually played at these meetups (maybe even more than one table of it). As the date of the event approaches, look for posts below by individual DMs/GMs promoting their games and sharing related info. The individual DMs/GMs handle their own signups, either as RSVPs associated with the post for their game(s), or on a first come, first served basis.
Note: Your support helps keep these events going! So here’s a friendly reminder that we do humbly ask for folks who are RETURNING TO THIS EVENT to voluntarily chip in 1000 JPY (about 6-7 USD, give it to your DM/GM) to keep the ravenous goblins fed. But seriously, the money goes to a good cause: room rental and coffee for these indefatigable DMs! And if it’s your first time attending, don’t worry, our cunning cutpurses will doubtless espy the bulge of the coin you have on you, and ambush you in a dark alley next time you join.
The best game is always the next one!
