Match Race Sailing Club from Ohrid and Sailing Club New Wind from Skopje are delighted to invite all sailors and spectators to the prestigious OHRID MATCH RACE 2025, part of the European Match Race Tour (EMRT).
The EMRT is the premier European Match Race Series, showcasing some of the finest match racing teams across Europe. This thrilling series culminates in a Grand Final, where the top team is crowned the champion of the Tour.
Match Racing, a discipline steeped in history and excitement, is the same format used in the America's Cup since 1851. It is a straightforward and exhilarating form of sailing, featuring head-to-head duels between two boats, where tactics, strategy, and teamwork are paramount.
For the second consecutive year, the Tour returns to the stunning Lake Ohrid, the oldest lake in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. This hidden gem in the Balkans offers a perfect summer destination for both participants and spectators.
