Hello everyone,
Our very good friend, John Shin is in detention after being taken by ICE nearly two weeks ago.
Those of us that know him, know him as an amazing violinist, husband, father, and friend. He belongs back home with his family, and the community he gives so much to, and appreciates him.
We have set up a fund raising performance to raise awareness and funds for their legal fees. Our performance is on Monday, September 1st at 7 pm, at First United Methodist Church in SLC. There will be no charge for the concert, just please use the QR code or give cash or a check at the concert. If you can’t attend, I am putting a link to their Gofundme account in the comments.
The concert is featuring Kurt Bestor and The Chrome Street quartet, plus a whole lot amazing string players who love and support John and DaNae.
Robert Baldwin and I will both be conducting.
Much more to come, and I will also still be playing at the Capitol today, and will talk about it there.
