Natya - A movement workshop based on Indian classical dance and theater

Have you ever looked at a classical dance performance and wished you could try it? Then this workshop is for you.

Classical dance forms like Bharatanāṭyam are not celebrated enough among the general audience. Although you need years of practice and commitment to master it you don’t really need much to understand and feel the beauty of it. Through this workshop I intend to bring to you some exploration learning and fun through elements of dance music mime and emotion. In this workshop you will:

• Learn dance movements and gestures (adapted from Bharatanāṭyam)
• Explore the emotive language (Bhāvas)
• Attempt the Indian rhythmic mnemonics (Sollukaṭṭus or Bhols)
• Discover the beauty of story-telling and role-play through an Indian mythological story based on Krishna.

The event costs 15 euros which can be paid on the day of the event.
