Cemetery Plein Air Workshop

You are invited to join WAMA Arts Educator James Karlson in a plein air session at the Bellande Cemetery in Ocean Springs. While we channel the cemetery plein air works from Dusti Bonge's portfolio, we are also celebrating the Mexican Holiday Día de los Muertos - a day of remembrance of those before us, and a celebration of life by making art in this sacred space.

Please meet us at the museum at 9:00 am for a walk about the galleries to inspire our session before we set off for the Bellande Cemetery on Dewey Avenue at 10:00 am.

Minimal materials will be available while supplies last, so please come prepared with your preferred tools to make art! Some recommended supplies to consider would be a standing easel, a folding chair or stool, a drawing board, a hat, paper or canvas, and drawing tools. Equipment like ipads and tablets for digital drawing are also welcome!
