🎨📦 Storybook STEM: Not a Box! 🐰✨
Ages 5–8 (but younger and older siblings always welcome!)
Join us for a playful and imaginative day where a simple cardboard box becomes anything but a box! 🚀🐲🛳️ Whether it’s a rocket ship, a robot, a race car, or a royal throne it’s up to our children's imagination!
We’ll start by reading the sweet and silly story Not a Box by Antoinette Portis, then dive into a hands-on STEM + creativity challenge: turn your box into whatever your heart dreams up! Think glue, tape, markers, recyclables, and loads of cardboard.
🧠 STEM meets storytelling in this adorable activity that builds confidence, creative thinking, and collaboration across all ages. We’ll wrap up with a little show-and-tell so kids can proudly share their creations!
📍 Location:
We’ll be meeting at Memorial Park (near the Ocala Public Library). Look for us on the grassy area we’ll have picnic blankets spread out and a folding table set up with supplies!
💡 Bring:
A cardboard box (any size!)
Any fun recyclables or craft materials you’d like to share
Water, snacks, and sun protection
Something comfy to sit on (blanket, towel, cushion)
Big imaginations encouraged!
👧👦 Geared toward ages 5–8, but as always, younger and older siblings are totally welcome.
Let’s turn some “not-a-boxes” into masterpieces together! 💫📦🐰
