Calling all Tandem Mountain Bike enthusiasts!! We're bringing back SANTOS in 2026!!! Come experience some of the best tandem friendly single-track in the country with all your buddies. Santos Mt. Bike trails and state park, with their 63-plus miles of diverse and mostly flat trails, have been recognized nationally by IMBA as a Bronze Ride Center for its trail offerings to riders of all abilities. Santos is consistently ranked as one of the top off-road cycling destinations in the Southeast and the nation.
In past years, we have headquartered at the Santos State Park trailhead camping. It is impossible to host a group there any longer due to the inability to lock in campsites or cabins for a group our size.
This spring (March 12-18) we will headquarter at WhimCycle Trail Resort Campground which has 40 total campsites and 4 cabins. The campground is 6 minutes to Santos trails and is connected by a convenient connector trail. The campground has pavilions, fire pits, laundry and spacious campsites. Normal 30/50 amp hookups are $74 per night but we have arranged a 10% discount with the code "tandem10".
Whether you're reserving a cabin or campsite, reserve ASAP as this is the prime season for reservations in this area. The annual Mt. Bike Festival will have just concluded the prior week so we have some relief for booking, but there are a very limited number of spaces available. In SOORTA style, all rides and event updates will be announced each day on FB Messenger and the SOORTA Event site. Meals and gatherings will be casual and everyone can chime in as to how to best gather and fellowship. FYI the last Santos SOORTA had over 10 tandem teams.
